Just off the phone with Sara Ryan from Wedding Belle Magazine, and they are going to run a 4 page story on one of my weddings that i did, woehoe! If the magazine is anything like the example pages they showed me its going to be super, (and thats not because one of my weddings is in it..:) its just a realy nice magazine! It should be out at the end of this month!
For the tech's (I know you are reading this:),got my new 18-200 vr lens in today from Nikon, at last, going to test, and will post up the images of course. This lens has a waiting time of almost 3 months!!! So I am happy as a kid that I got mine..:)
Summer has been great, super weddings, great couples, most recently i was shooting a wedding in Markree Castle in Sligo, i was looking around and said to myself, i can not believe i am doing this for my job, i am so lucky...:) More pics of weddings later, i have been busy redesigning my Logo, so i just wanted to give you all a a sneak preview... Here is the new one....Like it? let me know..:)
What's so special about a wedding in April? For one the Sun!
If you are lucky and you have a perfect sunny day, the Sun is still
very low in the sky, and that can create some really special backlight
as seen in this image.
( Irish visitors to my site, the Sun, its that yellow round thing up in the sky that sometimes
appears...:) ok just kidding.
Here is the image...:) I hope to share some more images later this week of this fantastic wedding!
Sepia, is as you can see from this sample above a browny/dark orange colour (forgive, my poor description) it can give a nice warm feeling to an image if used well. And in a wedding album always with moderation, because overkill is never good. This image was shot at the wedding from Tina and Brian who got married in March 2006, and i hope to publish some more images of that wedding when all the editing is done.
A good wedding shoot is also about getting the details right. In my efforts to get even more creative with rings, i think this is a nice one.
Nope , dont worry its not me i am still hopping on my 2 legs. Thats not what i can say for my fellow www.wpja.com member Toby Morris, he thought is was a good idea to go to Iraq to capture events over there, no not weddings ofcourse. While on patrol with his unit, a sniper took aim at him and shot him in the leg, twice! After being flown to Germany he is now at home in the US recovering from his injuries. In the last e-mail that i got from Toby he wrote that he was very happy to be at home and i quote ''Yea, I am sticking to weddings for a while'' Good man Toby, and ofcourse a speedy recovery. Weddings can be eventfull, but at least we dont get shot!
